Remote Project #1

Well this was different. I try to take photos outside whenever possible, and I especially dislike taking photos inside my own home. However, for this project I tried to adapt to the new circumstances. The only way I could imagine taking photos which were at all engaging was through macro photography because it allows me to capture a new aspect of the things we see in our homes everyday. The use of macro photography to capture technology also worked especially well with the prompt "Welcome to the New World" because technology, when viewed up close, appears much more complex and akin to an entirely new world. I am overall satisfied with the photos I took, but I certainly wish I could have changed some things. First, in order to take macro photographs I used a lens attachment. While this allowed me to take macro photographs, it is undoubtedly inferior to an actual macro lens. Additionally, I wish I had expanded the range of subjects which I photographed. While I like the exploration of technology, I feel like it can become repetitive. While I was not as limited in my resources as others in the class, the challenges of using the macro attachment were apparent and often prevented me from capturing the image I would have preferred.
