Magic Light

In terms of the number of photos that I took for this project, I didn't meet my expectations as much as I would have liked. Much of this came from an error I made with my first roll of film for this project. I didn't check to make sure that I had properly loaded my film, which meant that I had lost time and photos. However, I am still overall happy with how this project turned out and the photos I took. Because the theme of "Magic light" is quite vague I tried to think about the prompt in two ways: Natural light and artificial light. The first photos in my sequence of photos all solely use natural light. The intentional theme of these photos was sunbeams. In the first two photos the sunbeam itself is most apparent and I think it adds a sense of atmosphere to the photos. The other intentional unifying element of these photos was having sunlight being broken up by trees, showing a refraction effect. My greatest disappointment in this project came from the failure of my first roll, but other than that I think I managed my time well and am happy with the results of this project. In the future I will certainly be more careful when loading my film, but I also want to experiment more in the developing process to add a level of abstraction to my images. I think it could add greatly to the intrigue of my photography.
